All week long, as we prepared for this weekend's performance, we kept saying we had a good feeling about this show, and it turned out we were right. It wasn't a house concert, it was a soul recital!
The Cozy Cabin "regulars" who weren't listening to Smooth Jazz CD101.9 in the 1990s soon discovered who Vinx was, thanks to the wonderful Vinx Super Fans who made up two-thirds of the sold out audience. Vinx serenaded the "gourmet audience" with covers ("Moondance" and "My Funny Valentine") and originals ("The Captain's Song," complete with audience participation, and "Tell My Feet") Vinx shared his dream job (being the guy who travels the globe announcing the President of the United States), kept us laughing for two hours, and even had expert assistance from helpful audience members who remembered song lyrics. Strangers quickly became friends, and first-time guests vowed to return. And we get to do it all over again September 5 with Emily Elbert!
